It all started when Coach Jean invited me to join their first class where RaketPro has founded. I am one of the first batches of the Social Media Marketing Crash Course. I learned that Social Media Marketing is about using different social media platforms to market products and services, engage with customers, and reach potential audiences. Aside from gaining so much information about SMM, I have also learned the basic skill of using Canva (an online graphic design tool), which I liked because it’s convenient and user-friendly. But what caught my attention was their success stories, which inspired me to why not give an online job a try. That’s the time when I became interested in learning more about this kind of work out of curiosity.
I joined their first Ultimate SEO for Beginners class with so much willingness.
Unlike SMM, SEO is more focused on improving a site’s ranking on Google and other search engines, which means that the higher your website is listed, the more people can see it. There are four types of SEO: On-Page, Off-Page, Technical and Local SEO. I have learned that it takes time for your site to rank higher on SERP (Search Engine Results Page), and there are different processes for gaining organic traffic. With this kind of work, you need to invest in different software tools for SEO that will make your task easier.
Coach Jean let me join an SEO training wherein we had a different assigned task, and our first task was link building campaign. Link building is an off-page SEO technique or process to get other websites to link to your website. Each of us has different sites to be promoted, and I was assigned to the Jeanius Hub site. We do blog commenting, social bookmarking, and directory submission. I have learned different strategies on how to get live links that will help gain more backlinks and referring domains to the site.
Later on, I was chosen to be part of the Content Marketing Training with Coach Darlyn. Each of us has given a specific topic with different target audiences. I have learned how to make an outline out of the topic, build out each section of the outline, and craft an enticing and captivating blog post title. We then submitted our output, and to my surprise, my blog post was appreciated and noticed by the coaches. That’s the time that I’ve been given the opportunity to work with RaketPro.
I was then offered a part-time job teaching Time Management Course, and at the same time, I was assigned to do content writing and on-page SEO. There, I was virtually trained by Coach Jean on how to use WordPress (with Rank Math Plugin) and how to write content containing focus keyword and other keywords. I also learned how to write the content I created, customize the design, and insert links. Aside from RaketPro, I was also assigned to write some articles from other sites.
Coach Jean introduced me to a site where I do product research and write down each product description. It’s still in WordPress, but this time, the plugin used was Yoast SEO, and I’ve discovered their differences with Rank Math since it is new to me.
Even though I still consider myself a beginner, in almost 5 months, I have gained so many ideas and skills, especially in SEO. All those experiences I went through were worth it and paid off. I still can’t believe it, but I am now hired as an SEO content writer and have the opportunity to work abroad or do the work remotely. All thanks to my hands-on mentor and trainer, Coach Jean who encouraged me despite my self-doubt and for believing that I could.
Learning SEO is challenging at first, but believe me, all your experiences will be worth it, and you'll have so many opportunities in time. As long as you’re eager to learn, you’ll discover something that you didn’t expect you could do.
